Ms. Dawn Zirpoli
My name is Dawn Zirpoli and this is my first year teaching in the Upper Darby School District. Before coming to UDSD I spent 12 years in the Garnet Valley School District at the High School. For the majority of that time I was a classroom paraprofessional in their Life Skills and Autistic Support Classrooms. My last year there I taught in their Extended School Year Program, in the summer of 2016 and 2017, and fulfilled two long-term substitute teaching positions in the Autistic Support Classroom. In March of 2017 I also fulfilled a three month long-term substitute position in the Interboro School District, at Glenolden Elementary School, in the 1st and 2nd grade Emotional Support Classroom.
I have always wanted to be a teacher and in 2006 I began my journey into making my dream become a reality. I began taking classes at DCCC and shortly after transferred to Neumann University. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Education from Neumann University in May of 2013. I continued on at Neumann University and received my Master's Degree, in December of 2015, in Early Elementary Education Pre-K thru 4th grade and Special Education Pre-K thru 8th grade. I also received an Autism Endorsement Certificate Pre-K thru 12th grade.
I am very thankful for the opportunity to work in a school district that embraces diversity throughout their schools as well as the community. My goal is to always provide a safe and welcoming environment that is conducive to learning; where all children can come to school and feel accepted.
