Mrs. Wallin

Welcome back to a new school year!

This year I will be teaching reading interventions to all three grade.   I look forward to interacting with all my students and meeting and/or talking to the families.

The 2018-2019 school year promises to be a great year: all you need is a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Mrs. Lou Anne Wallin, M.Ed.

Reading Specialist

Reading Interventions are 100% class work based. Students are expected to come to class on time, ready to learn and read. They should bring a writing utensil to class every day.

Students are tested weekly on fluency, and bi-weekly on comprehension.

All of their work stays in class; this ensures all the students always have their class work readily available. I have provided folders for them to help keep them organized in class. Reading is the only homework assigned to my reading intervention classes is to read everyday at home for at least 20 minutes.  If a student chooses to complete a weekly reading journal sheet to be handed in each Friday, they will automatically earn extra credit.

Students can plan for a great year by bringing the following to class each day:

    A positive attitude.

    A willingness to work.

A pencil or two and a pen.

    As per school policy:

    1.  Students may not leave the classroom during the first ten minutes or the last 10 minutes of class unless it is an emergency.

    2.  Cell phones must be off during instructional class time and put away or laid face down on the desk or placed in a bag or pocket.

    3.  Earbuds or headphones must also be removed from ears and unplugged from phone during class.

    4.  Please contact the main office if you need to contact your child during the day.
