Upper Darby's First Alumni Principal

Dr. Matthew Alloway is a proud graduate of the Upper Darby High School Class of 1996.  After studying Education at Kutztown University, he returned to the school district to teach at Beverly Hills Middle School in 2002.  In addition to classroom experience, Dr. Alloway spent several years as the Lead Teacher in the district's Alternative Education program while he completed a Master's degree with principal certification from Penn State University.

Since 2009, Dr. Alloway has developed his leadership expertise through roles as Assistant Principal at Beverly Hills Middle School and Upper Darby High School, and Principal at Bywood Elementary School and Drexel Hill Middle School.  From 2010 - 2017, Dr. Alloway completed his doctoral program at Immaculata University.

In July 2022, Dr. Matt Alloway returned to Upper Darby High School as the first UDHS Alumni Principal.  He looks forward to working with our students, families, and professional staff to support an environment that is safe, kind, and academically engaging.  His biggest fans who will support his transition to UDHS are his wife, Sue, and his two children, Michael and Erin.
