Mr. Joshua Rehak
Dear Aronimink Familes,
We are officially into the last week of October! Unfortunately Tropical Storm Zeta will bring us lots of rain and much colder temperatures as we transition into the Halloween weekend. Also, remember to turn back your clocks, as midnight on Sunday (November 1st) marks the official end to Daylight Savings. Thank you to all who supported our Aronimink HSA last night by participating in the Moe’s Neighborhood Popup Fundraiser. Moe’s Taco Kits are always a fan favorite and Taco Tuesday definitely happened in the Rehak household last night!
At last night’s UDSD Committee Meeting, Superintendent Dr. McGarry made the announcement that all students, with the exception of students in our low incidence programs (Life Skills, Autistic Support, and Multi-Disability Support) will remain virtual until further notice. This announcement means that students will not be returning to our buildings for in-person instruction on 11/5 as originally planned. I know that this comes as a disappointment for all, however, we will continue to engage our children in the virtual learning setting. Our students have mastered their routines, know our virtual expectations, and participate with their classmates each and every day. We will continue this momentum until we are able to return. Thank you for your continued support through this difficult and unprecedented time. Please be on the lookout for a district-wide communication regarding the decision to remain virtual this evening.
As a reminder, there is NO SCHOOL for students on Monday, 11/2 and Tuesday, 11/3. This means that no synchronous or asynchronous instruction will occur on these days. School will resume on Wednesday, November 4th at our regularly scheduled times. We will continue to follow the same schedule from the start of the school year.
With the end of the month approaching, it is soon time to recognize our Students of the Month. I will be sharing our virtual recognition in the coming days with our students on Schoology during their Morning Meeting times. This is always my favorite time of the month!
Since we will not be hosting our traditional Halloween Parade, I will be sharing a link to a Halloween Showcase Flipgrid so that our students can share their Halloween costumes with their classmates. The Flipgrid link will be shared with your children on Friday via Schoology. I can’t wait to see those costumes.
Have a great remainder of your week! Happy Halloween!
Josh Rehak, Principal
