Dear Charles Kelly Families,

With tremendous Royal Pride, I write this letter of introduction as the recently appointed Principal of Charles Kelly Elementary School.

As someone born and raised in Upper Darby and a graduate of our high school, I understand the importance of opportunity, unity, excellence, and what it means to be a “Royal.” Upon graduating, I began my career with the Upper Darby School District, spanning 18 years, working in many capacities throughout the district before becoming a Technology & Engineering Teacher at Beverly Hills Middle School and Upper Darby High School. After sixteen years, I became the Lead Teacher at Charles Kelly Elementary School, where I found a passion in working with young learners. The following year, I became an Assistant Principal at Beverly Hills, still serving former Kelly Scholars! For the past four years, I have been in Marple Newtown School District as an Assistant Principal at Paxon Hollow Middle School.

My time at Charles Kelly as Lead Teacher was very impactful. I understood Charles Kelly’s mission of being committed to developing young children with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. I also worked alongside a dedicated faculty and staff and an active and supportive Home & School Association.

As Principal, I will work collaboratively with the Charles Kelly faculty, staff, and families. We will continue to utilize Positive Interventions and Supports (PBIS), which foster supportive relationships while being safe, respectful, and responsible. We will also create an environment that promotes social-emotional understanding by engaging academics, positive community, effective management, and developmental awareness. Our students will be supported in becoming strong social and academic learners.

As we start our new school year, I cannot wait to work together to continue to make Charles Kelly a truly wonderful place.

Sincerely,
