Mr. Christien Toombs
My name is Mr. Toombs and I will be your child’s social studies teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Joining me this semester is Ms. Tuohey who will be my student teacher. Ms. Tuohey is a secondary education social studies major attending Temple University. If you have any questions for Ms. Tuohey, you can contact her via email - email@example.com. While the start of this school year will be different, we will make it as exciting and engaging as it would be in the regular classroom! Our goal is to see that your child gives us their best effort every day as they sign into the virtual classroom and reach their full potential. This year your child will be faced with many challenges, such as adjusting to the virtual setting, new teaching styles, a different schedule, and balancing time management. With your support, we will be able to help guide your child in overcoming these challenges.
Communication is something that we believe is crucial in helping your child become successful in any learning environment. We are always willing to communicate with you using any platform that works best for you; whether it be virtual conferences (Google Meet), phone calls/texts, or emails. We ask that you, the parent(s), stay proactive and make an effort to contact us frequently. You can check Home Access Center (HAC) to see how your child is doing in the virtual setting as grades are updated on a daily basis.
Finally, your child is here to learn and grow. We will do whatever it takes to see that your child is prepared for the next level. Our experience, dedication, and your support will give your child every opportunity to receive the highest quality of education. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be a positive part of your child’s life! If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact Mr. Toombs via email – firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to seeing you (virtually) at back to school night on September 17th at 6:00 PM!
