Degrees and Certifications:
I have a Masters Degree in Reading Education and a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education.
Welcome to 5th Grade!!!
I am extremely excited to start my 7th year teaching and my first at Stonehurst Hills Elementary School. Fifth grade is an exciting time here at Stonehurst Hills as it is the student's last year of elementary school and the 5th grade team tries to make it a memorable one. I will work hard to meet the needs of each unique learner and would like to have an open line of communication between home and school to help make this happen. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will try to respond to your email as quickly as possible.
Fifth graders have many responsibilities. They will use planners each day to record their homework. Homework assignments are given Monday through Thursday. It is expected that completion of all class and homework assignments are done in a timely manner. Students have responsibility cards to record any missed work and behavior infractions. They are rewarded with STANDOUT STALLIONS which they can use to "purchase" small items in our school PBIS store and earn other class reward points.
There are many events planned this year for our 5th graders. Some of these include, Student Council elections, Partnership with the Upper Darby Police Bike Patrol, Valley Forge National Park trip, 2 trips to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Theatre Works at the UDHS, Lankenau Hospital trip, and the end of the year trip.
