Ms. Lihong Ni
Welcome to my teacher page.
My name is Lihong Ni. I was born in China and received my BA in Beijing. I immigrated to the U.S. and obtained a MS in computer science from St. Joseph’s University. I worked at the Upper Darby School District as a computer programmer for 16 years and I have taught after school Chinese programs for five years at UDSD and the Guanghua Chinese School at Montgomery County Community college as well as Holy Child Academy in the past years. After I received another MS in education from Eastern University, I feel fortunate to have a career that I enjoy so much. Teaching Chinese is quite different from the job I used to do as a programmer. I love this new challenge. I will use my Chinese background to introduce Chinese culture from my own experience. By exposing my students to Chinese language and culture, I am hoping to challenge my students to think critically, and to open themselves up to seeing other points of view.
I am looking forward to an exciting year filled with friendship, learning and fun! I hope I can make a difference in the lives of my students. I will combine both Chinese and American teaching methods to help my students to learn. The students and I will be using Schoology as a tool to share what we are doing in school throughout the year. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at Lni@upperdarbysd.org.
