Welcome to Drexel Hill Middle School's Art Department
At Drexel Hill Middle School the art wing is a place for students to make personal discoveries and connections with art making. Throughout Grades 6-8, Artists interact with a variety of materials and create work inspired by historically and culturally significant artists and movements. Together we strive to foster a safe, respectful, and responsible space where students can build a knowledge of different techniques and history to inform their personal artwork.
All 7th and 8th Grade students will have the opportunity to take Art as a Related Arts course for one marking period during the school year.
This is a 45 day course that covers everything from drawing, painting, to design and sculpture.
If you choose to take Art as an elective course you will have Art Class for 90 days! Art Electives are open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who are not required to take a math or reading intervention. If you are interested look out for these choices on your elective card in the spring:
6th Grade - A Journey in Time - Art History Based
7th Grade - Advanced Art I - Survey Course
8th Grade - Advanced Art II - Survey Course
