Bachelor of Science Elementary Education West Chester University Master of Education Cabrini College PA Certified Teacher
Hi, my name is Miss Hill and I would like to sincerely welcome you to my page. I grew up in Upper Darby and have a deep love for the Upper Darby School District and all that it has to offer students from many different backgrounds. I attended West Chester University and received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education; several years later, I attended Cabrini College for a Master's degree in Education. More importantly, I have had the honor of teaching at Stonehurst Hills since 2009. Teaching 4th grade for 10 years has been such a rewarding experience, and I am truly grateful for every student that walks through my door. Together with a team of passionate and creative teachers, I am committed to providing your family with a loving and academically sound foundation for a lifetime of learning. Every year is a new chapter… a new beginning for your child, and I am excited to team with you as we encourage your child to grow to their fullest potential this year. Thank you for sharing your amazing children with us!
My Favorite Educational Quote:
"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." -Martin Luther King Jr.
Monday thru Thursday students will have the following homework each night. Please check your child's planner for exact pages daily:
Your child should neatly complete their spelling homework each night. Here is an attached document with the weekly date of each lesson, the spelling list, and assignments required.
-Thursday Spelling and study for test
-Friday- Spelling Test
Your child should read for 20 mins each night and/or complete a task in their Reading Homework Book.
Your child should uitlize xtramath, sumdog. or flash cards to practice math facts each night.
Your child also has assigned pages from today's lesson. In addition, please encourage your child to study the topic by explaining what they are doing on their homework. Please see your child's planner for details or feel free to email me at email@example.com for questions or concerns.
Parent Math Homework Tip: Everyday your child will write down objectives and notes/examples of problems in their math notebook. This should be a resource to help them at home. If they say, they do not know how to do it, direct them to their math notebook. If they have not copied notes, please encourage your child to stay focused in math and class and copy the examples that are provided to help them. If your child has copied notes and is still frustrated with homework. Please write a note with your signature at the top of the homework letting me know your child needs extra help with that topic.
Here below is parent letter for each math chapter to give you an idea of what your child is learning in class and should be studying.
