Bachelor's Degree in Special Education (N-12) Master's Degree in Education Supervisor of Special Education (pending)
Mr. Jason Gonzalez
My name is Mr. Gonzalez, and I am one of three Autistic Support teachers at Westbrook Park Elementary School. I discovered my love of teaching special education when I was in middle school. I would often volunteer time to assist students with severe disabilities in the special education classroom setting. This experience left a long and lasting impact on my life.
During my undergraduate career at Westchester University, I persued a degree in Special Education (K-12) with an interest in teaching students with severe disabilities. Upon graduation, I began work at Upper Darby School District, working with kindergarten and first grade students with Autism. As the years passed, I began working with older students and presently teach students in fourth and fifth-grade. I enjoy the transition periods between third and fourth-grade, as well as fifth to sixth-grade, as the students move to Drexel Hill Middle School. During my eleven years in Upper Darby School District, I have obtained my Master's Degree from Saint Joe's University, as well as my certification in the Supervision of Special Education.
I find a deep passion for working with students with autism, especially focusing on life skills that help them become as independent as possible. I look forward to another great year at Westbrook Park Elementary School and in the Upper Darby School District!
