    Macie Basom is thrilled to join Beverly Hills Middle School as an Assistant Principal. Her educational journey began with the pursuit of a B.A. in Mathematics, accompanied by minors in Education and German, at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Macie's dedication to teaching led her to KIPP DC: Public Charter Schools in Washington, D.C., where she honed her skills as an educator, specializing in early childhood and elementary education.

     

    Later, she moved to Philadelphia, where she furthered her education by earning an M.S.Ed in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. Upon completing her studies, Macie found her professional home within the Upper Darby School District, teaching at Bywood Elementary school. Over the past four years, she served as an Instructional Coach for Mathematics in elementary schools throughout Upper Darby School District. 

     

    Beyond her professional endeavors, Macie cherishes the chaos and joy of caring for three spirited labradors Her partner, Donnell, provides unwavering support in both her personal and professional endeavors. While her roots and family trace back to southern California and New Orleans, Macie has embraced Delaware County as her home since 2016.

     

    It may have raised eyebrows among her West Coast friends and family when she announced her role as Assistant Principal at Beverly Hills Middle School, despite its geographical distance from the famed 90210. Nonetheless, Macie regards it as an honor to continue her educational journey within the Upper Darby School District. Macie is wholeheartedly committed to contributing her skills and dedication to the advancement of the school, its remarkable students, and the wider community it serves.
