Desmond Chisholm began his educational career as a Reading Specialist at Memphis Street Academy in Philadelphia. Mr. Chisholm spent three years teaching at Memphis as a Reading Specialist. He then went on to serve as a Reading Specialist at a private school in Philadelphia for 4 years before transitioning to Beverly Hills Middle School in Upper Darby School District, where he served as a Reading Specialist for 3 years. Mr. Chisholm eventually left Beverly Hills Middle School to become an administrator at Stonehurst Hills Elementary School. This year marks his second year as principal at Stonehurst Hills Elementary School.

His educational experiences have afforded him the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and well-being. His educational philosophy is based on his uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed and focused educational team, an encouraging community, and a supportive family. 

Mr. Chisholm received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University in 1999. He then attended Eastern University where he earned his Master’s Degree in Multicultural Education in 2005. After several years of teaching, he pursued his Administrative Certification from Gwynedd Mercy University, which he obtained in 2021.
