Mr. Allen Brydges is a 1997 graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School.  After high school, he went on to Cabrini University, where he played basketball and earned his degree in Elementary Education.  Mr. Brydges also earned his Master’s in Education from Cabrini and then received his Administration Certificate from Lamar University. 

Mr. Brydges is in his twenty-second year working in the Upper Darby School District.  Mr. Brydges began his teaching career in 2002 at Beverly Hills Middle School.  During his thirteen and one-half years at Beverly Hills, he taught 7th-grade Social Studies, Process Skills, and 8th-grade English.  In 2015 Mr. Brydges became the Lead Teacher at Garrettford Elementary.  After three years as the Lead Teacher, Mr. Brydges took over as the Building Principal.

Mr. Brydges prides himself on building relationships with students, families, and staff, and is a huge supporter of the Garrettford Home and School Association.  He absolutely loves the family atmosphere at Garrettford and has immersed himself in the Garrettford community.

Mr. Brydges is supported by his wonderful wife Lauren, who actually taught at Garrettford for eight years.  He also has four amazing children.  Mr. Brydges is an avid runner and coaches many youth teams in Ridley, where he resides.  His favorite thing to do is to spend time away with his wife and kids (Allen, Brian, Rachel, and Natalie).
