We are coming up to another long weekend and will be celebrating President’s Day on Monday. School will be closed on Monday and we will resume in-person and virtual instruction on Tuesday. Next week we will see students from Tuesday through Friday in the in-person hybrid schedule.

Stonehurst Hills is in competition with the rest of the elementary schools in the district to host the highest numbers of participation in the UD Rising Forums. Lets get registered and ready to participate. See the below information for the forums and the prizes that we can earn.

Cohort Schedule

Be sure to follow the schedule provided according to your child’s assigned cohort. Keep in mind the cohorts have been develop to meet Covid-19 safety recommendations and to keep your children safe. You may access the new elementary schedule on the below links. An entry plan for grades K-3 will go out to families later this week.

On Wednesday, February 10th, the DCIU is hosting a parent education forum for Supporting Social Skills at Home for parents with middle and high school students. Flyer attached below.

Upper Darby Rising

Family Suports

The following resources are available from Pennsylvania PBS to support schools, teachers, students, and caregivers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  1. On-air broadcasts of educational, standards-aligned programs- On-air broadcasts of educational, standards-aligned programs Monday - Friday from 10am-3pm to supplement your distance learning. Programming is aligned by grade bands, and color-coded by Learning Goals so that you can easily find the program that's right for your child/student.  If students have access to the internet, they can also livestream their PBS station’s channel. Message from the Nurse – A few reminders from the School Nurse:

Physical and Dental Forms are mandatory for incoming students new to the school district. Also for Kindergarten and or First grade students.

Dental forms are mandatory for all 3rd grade students.

If your student requires medications in school a medication order signed by a doctor is needed, even for over the counter medications. Please bring the medication and doctor's order to school when in person classes start.

Calling the office – Many of our teachers and office staff will be working from home the next few weeks. If you need assistance and call the office and someone does not answer please leave a message. These messages will be sent directly to our office staff’s email. They will get the message and a secretary will respond back to you with the help you need.

3rd Material Pick-up -  Material pick-up is still happening this week. Please make every attempt to come in and pick up your student’s materials. Pick-up times are: 9:00am – 10:30am and 11:15 – 2:45pm

Food Distribution -  Food distribution times for Mondays only have been changed to 11:15am pick up to assist in accommodating parents and family members after student pick-up. Please pick up your child first at the designated door for grade level pick-up and then go to the main doors for food pick-up.
