Kristin Meehan has been in education for the past 18 years. She received her undergraduate degree at Millersville University, her Masters in Education, and her Principal K-12 certificate at Cabrini University.
She has specifically been teaching in the Upper Darby School District in Pennsylvania for all of those years. She has taught at four different schools in Upper Darby School District, where she has had the unique experience of teaching in grades first through fifth, and currently holds the role of Principal at Bywood Elementary School.
This will be Kristin’s fourth year serving as Principal. She also serves as a behavioral and instructional support to all of the classroom teachers. While Kristin loves working directly with students, her true passion lies in supporting the teachers in being more successful in the classroom and addressing behavioral issues using current behavioral philosophies and strategies.
She especially enjoys modeling academic and behavior lessons directly in the classrooms and following up with teachers to be sure they are adopting said techniques and, in turn, seeing positive changes in the culture of their classrooms. School morale is very important to Kristin and she spends many hours creating an open, equitable, and caring community for both teachers and students.
She wants students to feel safe, successful, and as though they are given the opportunity to succeed each and every day. Family is very important to Kristin as she comes from a very large family with five brothers and sisters. She has two young boys of her own and a loving husband who supports her in her career path.
