UDSD Athletic Events: Safety and Media Coverage Policy

The safety of our students is the Upper Darby School District’s top priority. All employees and personnel interacting with our students, including coaches and event staff, undergo thorough vetting through our Human Resources department to ensure compliance with state clearance standards.

To maintain these high safety standards, we have established clear policies for media coverage at athletic events. Freelance photographers, videographers, or other unauthorized individuals are not permitted on the sidelines of any Upper Darby sporting events, as they have not been vetted through our district's clearance process.

Our Media Department is fully equipped to cover games at both the high school and middle school levels. If the administration or coaching staff wishes to have the Media Department cover a game, we follow an internal process to ensure proper coordination and coverage. We also utilize the district’s official social media channels to highlight and promote the achievements of our athletes.

Please note that even if you hire a photographer or videographer for your athlete, they will not be allowed access to the sidelines at our events.
