Built in 1937, Aronimink Elementary School has a long tradition of excellence. Although the student population has grown over time, Aronimink Elementary School has always been recognized as a leading academic institution. Currently, serving approximately 300 students, Aronimink Elementary School remains one of the smallest area schools and is able to provide a low student-teacher ratio and a personalized experience for each child. Our programming is designed to stretch each student academically while providing social support, and nurturing the whole child. Our active Home and School Association provides family-centered activities, including fall and spring festivals, bingo nights, and car washes. They also sponsor school assemblies including author and illustrator visits, science shows, and even visits from Chinese acrobats! Because of this attention to reaching maximum potential in academics and the humanities, our staff and students have received many awards and honors throughout the years.
Aronimink Elementary School has earned the prestigious Pennsylvania Keystone Achievement Award, which the Pennsylvania Department of Education describes as, “a public recognition of the quality work and commitment shown by students and educators.” In addition to earning some of the highest scores in the area on the Pennsylvania State System of Assessment tests, Aronimink students have excelled in many other areas. In recent years, our students have been recognized as winners of Delaware County Young Author Awards, Delaware County Drug-Free Calendar Design Awards, Upper Darby School District Brain Olympiad Awards (1st place), individual and team awards for the Marine Corps Physical Fitness team, Poetry Contests in the Delaware County Daily Times, ribbon awards in the Delaware Valley Habitat for Humanity Build A House, Build A Dream competition, awards in a variety of Widener University Engineering Day events, and countless Aronimink Elementary School character awards. Our commitment to growth and achievement for every child makes Aronimink Elementary School a great place to live and learn.
