• Welcome to Drexel Hill Middle School!

The Drexel Hill Middle School’s mission is to serve as a collaborative, student-centered community where…

    Dreaming is encouraged
    Honor is expected
    Motivation is celebrated and
    Scholarship is achieved.

Originally established in 1954 as Drexel Hill Junior High School, the school was renamed in 1980. Drexel Hill Middle School proudly serves the communities of Clifton Heights, Drexel Hill, and Upper Darby. Since adopting a middle school philosophy, Drexel Hill has won recognition on local, state, and national levels for the variety of student-centered and academically rigorous programs offered throughout the school. Among such awards are National Safe & Drug Free School (‘95), PA State Counselor of the Year (’96, ’01, ’05), PA State Teacher of the Year Semi-Finalist (’00, ’01, ’02), PA Principal of the Year (’96), PA National Distinguished Principal (’09), News of Delaware County “People’s Picks” Best Middle School in Delaware County (’02), and the PA Middle School Association’s Don Eichhorn Award for outstanding middle-level programming (’05).

Teachers and students at DHMS develop meaningful relationships that encourage success. Students are also given the opportunity to explore art, computers, health, music, technology, physical education, foreign language, and a range of elective courses during their years at Drexel Hill Middle School.

Drexel Hill offers a wide range of extra curricular activities, as well. Our instrumental and choral music programs have won recognition at numerous regional competitions. Our interscholastic sports teams compete in field hockey, football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, baseball, lacrosse, softball, and track. Our intramural program includes an array of sports and clubs to meet the diverse interests of our students.
