American Sign Language Club

All students are welcome to join for an introduction to the history and use of American Sign Language. Additionally, we will learn the alphabet, vocabulary, and how to converse. We will utilize local resources to fully develop and appreciate the skills required for the language of the deaf and hard of hearing.

Technology Student Association (TSA) is a student run STEM/STEAM organization that is designed to promote 21st century skills as well as leadership skills while assisting students in building skills that are necessary for success college and future careers.

All students are invited to participate in the Science Fair and display their entry in the Science Fair open house. Stay tuned to school announcements after Winter Break for information. Science Fair is usually in early February.

The Challengers program honors the top students in 8th grade for their academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and adherence to the six pillars of character: citizenship, respect, trustworthiness, caring, responsibility, and fairness during their three years at DHMS. Challengers are honored with an assembly, enjoy a trip to Williamsburg, VA/Busch Gardens, and take part in special activities at DHMS.

Each year, DHMS prepares and presents an “All School Musical.” This year, the performance will take place March 29,& 30 at 7:30 pm, & 31 at 2:00 pm.. We are proud to have over 150 students participate in our productions each year. The musical is a great opportunity to get involved in our school community.
Student Council members are selected by program advisors/teachers equally representing all grade levels. Members will demonstrate leadership qualities by exhibiting good behavior through their words and actions. All members are expected to participate in approved activities, which will serve to enhance the environment of our school community.

11/7, 12/5, 1/16, 1/30, 2/6, 2/20, 3/6, 3/20, 4/3, 4/17, 5/15 All Spanish students are welcome for extra help and resources. We will discuss the cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world, review class material, and offer support for information learned.
TBD Will begin in March 2019 All students are welcome to come out and get fit while having fun! This club is for those who love to run and for those who want to start. We will stretch, run, and cool down while setting goals and learning to push through them. The club will conclude with the Brad Schoener 5K here in Drexel Hill.
Hope to begin in October, 2018 Students will learn the basics and safety procedures of the rock climbing wall. They will learn to climb and belay other students.

Will begin in November, 2018 Students interested in improving muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, balance, self-confidence, self image, and grit will find Physical Fitness Club a great opportunity to get some fitness in before the school day begins. The workouts can be intense. Some students may be chosen to compete in the annual Marine Corp Physical Fitness Competition on May 1 as the top six athletes from each grade represent DHMS at UDHS. Get fit, be fit, and stay fit!
Every Thursday from 3:15 to 4:00. There will be no meetings on EARLY OUT days.

The International Club is for students who like to explore different countries, cultures and customs, to taste ethnic food and listen to a different music, play Pétanque or Bocce balls and celebrate holidays with your International Club members. You will also be invited to have lunch at a French restaurant in March.
