    Terrance Williams is from West Philadelphia, born and raised, and on the playground he spent most of his days. 

     

    Mr. Williams is a proud graduate of the historic Overbrook High School in 2001 where he was an honor student and a member of the Track & Field and Baseball teams. Afterwards, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Gettysburg College in 2005 where he was a member of the Track & Field team running the 100m, 200m, and 400m, and having participated in the Long Jump. In 2008, he earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Holy Family University, and most recently, a second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum, & Administration from St. Joseph’s University in 2022. He was also the proud recipient of the Educational Leadership & Administration Award. 

     

    Mr. Williams began his career in 2005 and went on to hold a variety of positions through to 2013, which included Direct Support Professional, Coordinator, Supervisor, and Assisting Director for a non-profit Social Services organization that specialized in providing services and supports for children and adults with intellectual, developmental, autism spectrum, and behavioral disabilities. Mr. Williams began his educational career in 2008 and spent his first 6 years in Philadelphia, teaching 3rd grade in a charter school, holding the position of a K-8 math enrichment teacher for a year, and then teaching 5th grade for the next four years.

     

    In 2014, Mr. Williams began working at Bywood Elementary in the Upper Darby School District as a 3rd grade teacher for 1 year and a 4th grade teacher for the following 5 years. In 2020, he transitioned to the Lead Teacher position and then as Assistant Principal in 2022 at Highland Park Elementary School, where he enjoyed serving the robust, diverse community of dedicated learners. In December 2024, he became the Assistant Principal of the Upper Darby High School, Class of 2026, where he looks forward to helping students achieve their academic and life goals as they prepare for life post-high school.
