Joshua Peterkin is honored to serve as one of the Assistant Principals for the Class of 2027. With over twenty years of experience in education, he has dedicated his career to supporting students and fostering academic growth. Joshua joined the Upper Darby School District six years ago, initially serving as a math teacher and lead teacher at the high school. He then transitioned into administration, serving as the Assistant Principal for the graduating class of 2023.
A proud graduate of West Chester University, Joshua earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees there. He also holds an administrative certification from St. Joseph’s University. Prior to joining Upper Darby, Joshua worked as a middle school math teacher, middle school administrator, and elementary administrator, gaining valuable experience in a variety of educational settings.
In addition to his work in education, Joshua has a rich background in coaching, having led both baseball and basketball teams for many years. His experience as a coach has deepened his understanding of mentorship, teamwork, and leadership.
Joshua's goal is to ensure that students and families feel safe, supported, and encouraged to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world. He resides in Springfield with his wife and three children, and as a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, and camping together.
