Kelley Simone, the Director of Secondary Education, has over two decades of experience dedicated to education. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education from St. Joseph's University in May 2000, followed by a Master's in Educational Leadership from Wilmington University in April 2006. She is currently pursuing her doctorate of education at Widener University.
Her educational journey includes 22 years of service, with 12 years in the district since September 22, 2011. Starting as an Alternative Education Teacher at Marple Newtown School District in 2001, she later served as an Emotional Support Teacher at Marple Newtown High School from 2003 to 2005. From 2006 to 2011, she held the Special Education Department Chair position at West Chester East High School. Moving within the district, she served as Assistant Principal at Beverly Hills Middle School from 2011 to 2014, becoming Principal until 2017. From August 2017 to June 2022, she proudly served as Upper Darby High School Principal, and since July 2022, she has been the Director of Secondary Education, entering her second year in this role.
Ms. Simone expresses immense pride in contributing to the success of our secondary schools and the entire district. Her diverse experiences and roles in middle school and high school have reinforced her commitment to the district's collective work. She is grateful for the privilege of working for the Upper Darby School District.
