Joe McGilvery has served as the Upper Darby School District's Supervisor of Procurement since 2019. His 28-year career within the District has taken him through multiple stops along the way. Joe’s journey began in the fall of 1996 with six years as a bus driver in the Transportation Department. He then served as District Courier for two years on the Facilities team and ultimately moved into Administration for the past 20 years, heading the District's Purchasing Department.

As the senior member of the Business Office, Joe prides himself on getting to work early each day and sets about ensuring that the District gets the best return for each taxpayer dollar spent. Joe was recognized by the Board of School Directors as the 2020 Unsung Hero Board Leadership Award recipient.  When he is not at work, Joe enjoys “live” music, sports, and spending time with his wife, Dana, their kids and grandkids.
