One of the most distinguished female graduates of Upper Darby High School, Dr. Horning was a research biochemist who worked with her husband at the University of Pennsylvania before becoming professor of biochemistry at Baylor.  Recognized as an international authority on the behavior of fats on the human body and published in over 200 journals, Dr. Horning was a past president of the American Society of Pharmacology and a huge supporter of the arts in the Houston area.
