Dr. Jerry Rosenbloom

Jerry Rosenbloom attended Upper Darby Junior High School starting in eighth grade.  At UDHS, Jerry was a Student council officer, president of the Band and first baseman on the baseball team. In 1961 Jerry received a B.S.from Temple where he was a class officer. Receiving an M.A. and Ph. D. in Applied Economics from the UPenn in 1965, he studied under an S.S. Hiebner Foundation Fellowship.  He also holds the professional designations Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter. After serving as Dean and Research Director of the McCahan Foundation at American College, Jerry went to Temple in 1970 and was Professor and Chair of the Department of Risk Management and Insurance.  From 1974 until now, he has been at the Wharton School of the UPenn as the Frederick H. Ecker Emeritus Professor of Insurance and Risk Management. There he was chairman of his department and Academic Director of the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) program, Excecutive Director of the S.S. Huebner Foundation and Pension Research Council, Senior Fellow in the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and Senior Fellow of Financial Institutions Center. Jerry has received six Wharton Graduate Teaching Awards, Career Recognition Award from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the H. Wayne Snider Distinguished Alumni Award from Temple. Jerry has authored many books and articles on Risk Management, Retirement Planning, Employee Benefit Planning and Personal Financial Planning. He has been a past president of the American Risk and Insurance Association, Chair of the Board of the American Institute for Property and Liability Underwriter. An international speaker, he has participated in a TV series “Management Report” on ESPN.
