Professional Biography — Christopher Rossiter, Assistant Manager of Facilities
-
Christopher J. Rossiter, Sr.
Assistant Manager of Facillities
(610) 352-7111
Christopher J. Rossiter, Sr. is the Assistant Manager of Facilities of the Upper Darby School District. In that capacity, he manages the maintenance and custodial departments, as well as the grounds crew. Together, they ensure that the schools are well maintained both inside and out. Mr. Rossiter sees to it that the buildings are kept in a safe, clean and functional capacity for the students, staff and visitors. He does so with the cooperation and input of his staff.
Mr. Rossiter is a 1988 graduate of Upper Darby High School, where he completed not only his academic courses, but simultaneously attended Marple Vocational Technical School in order to pursue carpentry. In 1989, he was hired as a carpenter by the Upper Darby School District. He worked in that capacity until January 2023. He served as foreman of the maintenance department for approximately four years before being promoted to his present position. He was also a Transport Workers Union, Local 289, member for 33 years, the last eight of which he served as President.
The Upper Darby School District gives him a sense of pride, as it not only provided him with education and training - it also provided him with a career. He is happy that he has, in some small way, helped to shape the District over the course of his career, and will continue to do what he can to improve it for future generations.
Mr. Rossiter lives with his wife and has three grown children and three grandsons. He is excitedly anticipating the birth of two additional grandsons in the fall of 2024.
