Dr. Matthew Downing is an experienced educator and forward-thinking leader, currently serving as the Supervisor of Elementary Instructional Technology within the Upper Darby School District. He holds a Doctorate in Curriculum, Teaching, Leadership, and Learning from Northeastern University, as well as an M.A. in Writing Studies from Saint Joseph’s University. Additionally, he is certified in K-12 Principalship, Secondary Social Studies, Library Science, and holds Google accreditation as a Trainer, Coach, and Administrator.
With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Downing has held diverse roles within the Upper Darby School District, including Interim Supervisor of Online Learning and K-8 Technology Coach. Through these roles, he has demonstrated a keen ability to lead district-wide initiatives, conduct impactful professional development sessions, and foster collaborative partnerships to drive educational advancement.
Dr. Downing's expertise lies in instructional enhancement, professional development, and the seamless integration of innovative methodologies such as artificial intelligence and computer science into curricular frameworks. His mission centers around fostering collaboration, innovation, and student-centered pedagogy, as evidenced by his contributions to conferences, publications, and engaging podcast dialogues.

Dr. Downing resides in Media, PA, with his wife and three children. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling to diverse destinations with his family, reading fiction and non-fiction books, and producing his podcast, DivingDeepEDU.
