Daniel Hyland is the Supervisor of Secondary Instructional Technology. Previously the Principal of Charles Kelly Elementary School and Assistant Principal of Beverly Hills Middle School, Daniel took on his current role in July 2023.
Prior to returning to Upper Darby School District, Daniel had other administrative roles, including Assistant Principal at Paxon Hollow Middle School in the Marple Newtown School District.
A graduate of Upper Darby High School in 1999, Daniel began his career with the Upper Darby School District over 25 years ago, working in many capacities. He was a district technician, and after earning his degree in education, became a Technology & Engineering Teacher at Beverly Hills Middle School and Upper Darby High School. In 2015, Daniel became a Lead Teacher at Charles Kelly Elementary School, where he found a passion for leading educators and young learners.
Daniel's commitment to professional growth is evident in his academic achievements. He holds a Masters of Science in Educational Leadership with a Principal Certificate and a Supervisory Certificate in Curriculum & Instruction from Saint Joseph’s University. His dedication and excellence were recognized with the Educational Leadership Award during his time at Saint Joseph’s University. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Technology Education from Millersville University, laying the foundation for his career in education.
In his role as Supervisor of Secondary Instructional Technology, Daniel continues to uphold the highest standards of educational excellence and innovation, ensuring that students are equipped with the skills and resources they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
