Any school taxes that are not postmarked by 1/31/2025 will be considered delinquent and have been handed over to the Delaware County Tax Claim Bureau for collection. Failure to receive a bill does not entitle the taxpayer to discount or remission of penalty on taxes.
Due Dates
If paying the bill in full, you have the following alternatives:
- Pay the DISCOUNT amount by 8/31/2024, for a 2% discount.
- Pay in full at the FLAT amount from 9/1 - 10/31/2024.
- Payments received after 10/31/2024 are subject to a 10% penalty and must be paid by 1/31/2025.
IMPORTANT:
All check/ money order payments must include a copy of your tax bill. Without the school tax bill the payments cannot be proccessed properly. Electronic check payments cannot be automatically processed as they do not included a tax bill. Payment by electronic checks will result in a delay/ possible unprocessed payment.
If you pay and full and require a receipt, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your tax payment.
Paying Installments
All property owners will be eligible to pay their taxes in installments.
Please note the following due dates for installment payments:
- Installment #1 - August 31, 2024
- Installment #2 - September 30, 2024
- Installment #3 - October 31, 2024
Please note that the 2% discount listed above for paying taxes early is not available for homeowners who elect to pay their taxes in installments. If you wish to make installment payments, you must pay the 1st installment by August 31, 2023. The remaining 2nd and 3rd installment coupons will be mailed to you by mid-September.
If you do not pay your 1st installment by August 31, 2024, you forfeit your right to pay in installments. The FLAT amount becomes due at that time, and is payable by October 31, 2024.
By paying your 1st installment, the School District assumes that you wish to continue paying in installments. No discount payment will be available after payment of Installment #1.
If you pay either Installment #2 and/or Installment #3 after the respective due dates, the School District will assess a 10% penalty on each delinquent installment payment. You will be required to remit the Installment Penalty Amount listed on your bill.
After January 15, 2025, the only acceptable forms of payment (Full OR Installment) are either by CERTIFIED CHECK or MONEY ORDER.
Any unpaid school tax bills in which 2024 school taxes have not been paid IN FULL by January 31, 2025 will be given to the Delaware County Tax Claim Bureau, Government Center Building, Media, PA 19063 for further disposition and collection. Delinquent taxes are subject to a filing fee and 9% annual interest (0.75% per month). See Delinquent Taxes for more information.
Installment Receipts:
An installment receipt can only be provided after the 3rd installment payment is made. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your final installment payment if you wish to receive a receipt.
